A group of us are planning to ride 3 loops around Kettle Morraine this Sunday starting at 7 30am. Each loop is 37 miles. See map below.
Kettle Morraine Ride Sunday
Matt Can Fit
I spoke with Matt and he will be available to fit people on the bike. He could be available anytime on Saturday the 28th and parts of the 29th. We plan to ride for at least a couple of hours on Sunday but could make accommodations for those wanting the fit but are unavailable on Saturday. There may also be a couple of slots for Friday night if you can’t make Saturday or Sunday. Matt will charge between $125 and $175 depending on the number of people he gets.
If you want the fit please confirm again along with times that you are available to be fit. Allow between 30 minutes and 1hour. We will probably station him out of my house in Glencoe.
Fit to be Fit
I was speaking with Matt Hoffmann (one of the coaches this weekend) and he may be willing to fly back out to provide fit services to those that are interested. We are targeting the weekend after next (June 28/29th). Please email at dcarlins@magellandevelopment.com if you are interested. I think we would schedule the fits all day Saturday and a morning ride on Sunday so Matt could make any minor adjustments on Sunday. He would come with Profile products to purchase for bars, stems, etc. I don’t know what the costs would be but we will have a better estimate after we know how many people are in. I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and thanks to those who participated!
Big Volume Weekend 6/6
For those of us who are missing out on the Triple T (or in my case wimped out) I am planning a big volume weekend June 6th - June 8th. This is the weekend before our Multisport Camp. I am planning on riding from Glencoe to Madison on Friday June 6th (approximately 135 miles) then on Saturday we would compete in the http://www.capitolviewtriathlon.com/. It’s an olympic distance triathlon. After the race we will ride to Lake Geneva (approximately 75 miles) then get driven back to Glencoe. On Sunday we run the North Shore 1/2 Marathon in Highland Park.
If you are interested in joining us (so far Joel M. and Paul T. are in) let me know so we can figure out the logistics of getting our gear to Madison and getting rides from Lake Geneva on Saturday. I will buy the first Guinness Friday night for all those who join us.
Equestrian Connection Challenge This Sunday
There is a race at Independence Grove this Sunday which supports the Equestrian Connection. There is a 5 mile, 1/2 marathon and full marathon course. It is run on the Des Plaines River Trail so the good news is, it’s run on the soft trail. The bad news is, I can’t guarantee there won’t be issues due to the recent flooding in the area. It’s a fun race and a few of us have already signed up.

Independence Grove is on Route 137 just west of St. Mary’s in Libertyville. The race starts at 7 30am. A few of us may also ride our bikes from Glencoe if anyone wants to join us. It’s about 25 miles each way. The post race area usually has homemade chocolate chip cookies and hamburgers.
Frozen Bogey Run
I think the Frozen Bogey 13.1 mile run sounds like fun. I am planning on joining in with a few others who plan to get there a bit earlier to 5 or 6 miles ahead of time (We’re not crazy but we are training for Virginia Beach Marathon). Let me know if you want to join us.
Saturday Long Run 2/9
A group of us are planning a long run this Saturday 2/9 starting from my house (660 Grove St. in Glencoe, Il). The plan is run 18 miles. For those wanting to run a shorter option we could circle back sooner. If you are interested in joining us either show up at my house by 7am or email me for directions. dcarlins@magellandevelopment.com
over the hills
A few of us are planning to run the Montrose Hill Monday morning starting at 6 15am. We will be running 35 hills to celebrate Roxy’s 34th birthday (one extra for good luck)
